The Radiocommunications Agency (RA) is an Executive Agency of the Department of Trade and Industry . The RA is responsible for the management of the non-military radio spectrum in the UK, which involves international representation, commissioning research, allocating spectrum and licensing its use, and keeping the radio spectrum clean.
