This kit can only be used in conjunction with
notebook (laptop) PCs running the following operating
systems:
- Windows 98 & 98 SE
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP
|

General Notes. |
| |
This kit facilitates simple access to a Liberty-i
public WLAN network. Primarily it is intended for
use for Liberty-i networks, however you may use
the same kit to access other operator networks.
In the event that you do you will have to alter
the settings in the software to suit that network
e.g. the SSID or network identity name. |

Installation Instructions. |
| |
The Liberty-i CD software installer for the WLAN
card is largely intuitive and does the majority
of the hard work for you in getting you ready to
connect to the Internet via the Liberty-izone in
the building or campus you are located. Once it
has completed loading, it will automatically invoke
your Internet Browser (Internet Explorer). The software
is completely safe to load. The following instructions
will guide you through how to complete this task.

WHEN INSERTING THE WLAN CARD INTO YOUR PC. |

PRIOR TO INSERTING THE CD INTO THE PC, DO
NOT INSTALL THE WLAN CARD UNTIL INSTRUCTED
TO DO SO BY THE SOFTWARE |

Insert the CD. If it doesn't auto run click
"Start->Run" and type in
x:\snl.exe and click OK, where x: is the letter
of your CDROM drive. This will typically be
D:. |

You will be shown the introductory screen
of the installer. |

Click "NEXT" to continue. |
| E. |
Read the terms and conditions and if you
agree to them click "YES". If you
do not agree with the terms and conditions
click "NO" and the installation
program will end. |
| F. |
Wait a moment while the installer checks
your PC. You will be shown various progress
messages and other windows may appear temporarily.
When the installer has finished configuring
your PC you will be shown the "INSTALLATION
SUCCESSFUL" screen. |
| G. |
When you are shown the " INSTALLATION
SUCCESSFUL " screen insert the WLAN card
into a free PCMCIA slot. After a few moments,
you may hear a beep or series of beeps from
your PC to indicate that the card has been
recognised. |

Click the "FINISH" button. |
| I. |
The installer window will be replaced by
the "Set Hotel ID" window. Enter
the exact Hotel ID if you are using this kit
in any other vendor network than Liberty-i.
However, if you are in a Liberty-izone, leave
it set as the default which is "Liberty-izone". |

Click "OK". |

PLEASE NOTE!
If you are a Windows 98 user you will
be prompted to reboot at this point.
When the correct Hotel ID is set (following
the reboot in Windows 98), you will be able
to click the "LAUNCH INTERNET BROWSER"
button which will invoke your browser and
connect you to the hotel login portal page. |

Uninstallation or reinstallation of the Liberty-i
WLAN software. |
| |
If you wish to de-install all of the Liberty-i
WLAN software, please re-insert the CD back into
the PC and select "UNINSTALL". This will
cause the system to safely remove all installed
components associated with the Liberty-i WLAN card.
Please note, you may also elect to reinstall all
of the software at this stage also if you need to
do so, by selecting " |

PLEASE NOTE!
Windows 98 users must de-install the Liberty-i software
after use, as all redundant ports e.g. Ethernet
ports are disabled during a wireless Internet session.
De-installing the software after you have used the
WLAN card to access the Internet will automatically
re-enable all ports disabled during the session,
leaving your PC as it was before. |

| 1. |
Introduction |
| |
This document contains instructions for connecting
a Macintosh computer running Mac OS X to a wireless
network. You will need:
- A Macintosh computer running Mac OS X.
- An AirPort card.
- Network software such as a web browser (Netscape
or Internet Explorer) and an email client (Netscape,
Pine, Outlook Express, etc)
- Your original system software (Mac OS X CD-ROM)

Getting Started |
| |
Connecting to Liberty-i wireless consists of
the following steps:
- Install and configure a wireless network card
if not already present.
- Configure your AirPort for network services.
- Logon to Liberty-i via the default site portal
page.

Installing an AirPort card |
| |
If you had to purchase an AirPort card, simply
follow the instructions that came with it. |
| |

| 4. |
Configuring AirPort |
| |
The following instructions cover using the AirPort
Setup Assistant to setup your card and connect to
Liberty-i. |
| |
4.1 AIRPORT SETUP ASSISTANT |
| |
- Start the AirPort Setup Assistant (found in
the Utilities folder under Applications).
- The Setup Assistant will gather information
from your computer (this may take a several
minutes).
- The Introduction screen will appear.
- Select Set up your computer to join an existing
AirPort network.
- Click on Continue.
- If your AirPort card is properly installed,
it will detect the signal from the access point.
- If signal detection is successful, you will
see the Conclusion screen with the following
message: Setup Assistant is now ready to configure
your computer to access Liberty-izone.
- Disable WEP key functionality.
- Click Continue.
- Start your web browser (you'll be taken automatically
to the Liberty-i portal page).
- Enter your logon passkey voucher (scratch
card) or pay by credit card, (where site functionality
is available).
- Setup is now complete.

Finishing Up |
| |
You should now be able to run network programs
such as Netscape or Internet Explorer. Please keep
this document for reference should something happen
to your network connection. |
